Coming back to Uni- a great reintroduction to the new term

The new year passes by and a new term at university dawns upon me. The last one, whilst the most panic inducing time of my life was fun in its own twisted and demented way. meeting new people was the highlight of the last term. So coming back already having made friends with my hallmates made me wonder what new memories would be created by our collective stupidity as newly crowned adults.

I came back on the sunday after new years day, being the first of my friends to return home was awkward but at least I got time to unpack my bag before the insanity and comical night that I experienced after Sam came back to Portsmouth that night. Now Sam is the typical scouse drinker coming home after a long journey. This became apparent to me especially when the first thing he did after walking into his room was drink like he had never drunk before like it was a baby desperately clutching onto its bottle for it’s only way of sustenance. I realised this when I first saw him in the hallway from the 412 kitchen, where I and Betrys rushed to his door to see how his holiday had been.

I saw the most horrifying thing I had ever seen when that door swung open.

He had a full bottle of bells in his left hand and started swigging it like it was water.  Needless to say, me and Betrys laughed hysterically as Sam looked at us in bewilderment; as if it hadn’t been less than a minute of being back and he had already started drinking. However, if you think that’s all that happened that night then I would wish you had been right… but it didn’t end there.

At twelve midnight the once peaceful hallways of Harry Law were turned into a horrifying home of music and the drunk. Megan is a friend of ours in this hallway and quite often is the butt of Sam’s jokes when this first happened. Sam, in a state of drunken inhibition, decided to play Amish paradise outside her door. I rushed to try and get him to leave but it was as useless as trying to move a building. Both Megan and Betrys (who are across from each other in the hallway) came with a look of disgust and confusion spread across their faces.

Needless to say, Sam forgot that night.

Whilst the rest of the time back has not been as exciting we celebrated both the birthdays of Owen and Caitlin, who is a small part of our group of friends along the hallway. Overall, my return to student life started with a bang and I hope that the rest of the term is just as memorable .

Thanks for reading, why don’t you comment about one hilarious experience with someone you know or live with no matter how small it is I’ll do my best to respond.
